Named after
the infamous Army colonel who got his troops massacred
on the plains by the local native Americans, portions of
Cuter State Park closely resemble the lands as the
originals native remember it. Plentiful wildlife roams
the meadows and hills. Bison, deer, black tail prairie
dogs (by the thousands), wild turkeys, coyotes, foxes,
skunks, porcupines, and more roam nearly predator free.
Overhead, eagles hawks, kites, falcons and owls are
occasionally seen. As aerial predators soar overhead,
the grasslands are echo the alarm calls sounded by
prairie dogs sitting tall as far as the eye can see.
